About the Role The Department of Education and Early Years is based at Quarry Hill Campus within the Cultural Quarter of Leeds.  A blend of green scenery and modern architecture, Quarry Hill Campus boasts specialist childcare training resources, multi-sensory provision, food technology suites, digital technology labs, state-of-the-art hospitality equipment and industry-standard studios and theatres. Quarry Hill Campus is a fantastic place for both study and work, with learners who thrive in an environment where staff promote high challenge and offer generous support.  The role will work closely with the Education and Early Years team to support students academically and emotionally to achieve their qualifications. The department has over 25 staff working within it to support approximately 600 students. Achieving their qualification can be life changing to students who wish to go on to further study, into employment or higher education. We are looking for an inspiring Education and Early Years teacher who has a passion for teaching and learning along with the ability to engage and motivate students. The ideal candidate will be passionate about students, ensuring that they are provided with an outstanding learning journey whilst at Leeds City College. What You Will Do Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources including the development of online learning resources. Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods to engage and develop learners. Create effective assessment activities, and provide developmental and timely feedback to motivate and inspire learners to improve.  Work as part of a team to ensure that all quality assurance processes are met. Actively participate in Continual Professional Development and industrial placements. Develop and strengthen relationships with students and provide support and encouragement to ensure successful outcomes. About You Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE). Relevant highest level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject. Recent teaching delivery in relevant subject areas (PGCE teaching placements/experience would also qualify here) which demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles. Experience of setting appropriate SMART targets to ensure progression of learners. Ability to plan and deliver quality teaching across identified modules.
