Overview

Abbey College Cambridge is a leading independent school located in the heart of the historic city of Cambridge.

We are seeking a strong Teacher of Chemistry to join our vibrant and diverse faculty from September 2024. Our outstanding Chemistry team, 6 strong including a dedicated technician. All lessons operate from well-equipped and modern laboratories and we have an excellent academic record at iGCSE, A level and university entrance. The team offer a wide range of successful STEM initiatives and a large number of students participate each and every year in Olympiads, Cambridge Chemistry Challenge and The Chemistry Race. 

Qualifications and Experience

You should demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of Chemistry and have a proven track record of successful teaching and inspiring students. You will need to be an excellent communicator, highly organised and able to manage your own workload.

You will hold a degree in Chemistry or a related subject and have a PGCE in Education or equivalent teaching qualification. You will be forward-thinking and innovative, exploring ways in which we can further support students and provide opportunities for all of our community to reflect the school’s values. You will be a highly motivated, and creative individual who has a passion for teaching and inspiring students to outstanding achievement.
