Are you passionate about shaping young minds and fostering a love for literature? Are you ready to inspire the next generation of writers and thinkers? If so, we want you on our team!
Greenwood Academy is a vibrant, successful 11-18 Academy situated in the heart of Castle Vale on the North East edge of Birmingham. We currently have 950 pupils on roll and are growing every year. As a member of The Academies Enterprise Trust, our vision is to enable pupils to ‘find their remarkable’, achieving the highest personal and academic standards. The school was judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted, October 2021.
As a Teacher of English, you will have the opportunity to engage students in the wonders of language and literature. From exploring classic works to analysing contemporary texts, you will inspire a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging English lessons that cater to the needs of diverse learners
- Creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued and encouraged to express themselves
- Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and resources
- Participating in extracurricular activities and school events to enrich the student experience
You will be joining a strong team which believes in a knowledge rich curriculum, through which young people access a variety of high quality texts as part of an immersive journey. We want someone who believes that no student should be held back by their economic background and who is passionate about literature and delivering the very best knowledge to our pupils.
