Progress Teachers are working to appoint a skilled and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to support teaching and learning during a period of maternity cover in a Leicestershire Secondary School.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging and comprehensive geography lessons to students across KS3 & KS4.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning and critical thinking.
- Develop and implement creative and innovative teaching strategies to make the subject matter relevant and interesting for students.
- Assess and evaluate student performance, providing timely constructive feedback to support their academic progress.
- Participate in school events, parent evenings, and professional development activities as required.
Qualifications & requirements:
- Teaching Qualifications: A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE with QTS, or equivalent) with a focus on Geography is advantageous, but experienced non-qualified teachers will also be considered for the role.
- Subject Knowledge: A degree (or equivalent) in Geography or a related field, with a strong understanding of key concepts and a passion for the subject.
- Teaching Experience: Proven experience as a Secondary Geography teacher with a successful track record of student achievement is highly advantageous. However, strong ECTs will also be considered for the role.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Commitment to Inclusion: A commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment that caters to the needs of all students.
- A DBS on the Update Service or Willingness to obtain.
