We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Teachers of Humanity to join our secondary schools in Basildon. As a Teacher of Humanity, you will have the opportunity to inspire students with the values of kindness, tolerance, and social responsibility. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that explore themes of humanity, social justice, diversity, and global citizenship.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to discuss and explore complex issues with respect and sensitivity.
- Encourage critical thinking and reflection on moral and ethical dilemmas, helping students develop empathy and understanding for others.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate humanistic principles across the curriculum and promote a culture of kindness and acceptance.
- Support students in developing practical skills for promoting positive social change, such as advocacy, community service, and conflict resolution.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them develop as compassionate and socially responsible individuals.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a background in humanities, social sciences, or related fields.
- Strong passion for promoting empathy, understanding, and social justice in education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate sensitive discussions and create a safe space for learning.
- Experience in teaching humanities subjects, such as history, geography, religious studies, or citizenship, is highly desirable.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom and school community.
- Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities and initiatives that promote humanity and social responsibility.
- Competitive daily rates of pay (£110 - £230 per day) based on experience and qualifications.
