Teacher Of Physics

The King's Academy are looking to recruit a Teacher of Physics who will enthuse pupils to learn with a combination of great subject knowledge, energy and dedication.

We have high expectations for our students as they grow and develop and all our staff provide important role models to them in terms of positive attitude, work ethic and diligence.

The science department provides science education to all students in Years 7 to 11. The department also offers popular A levels in biology, chemistry, physics, applied science and psychology. Teachers largely teach ‘by specialism’ in Key Stages 4 and 5 and are expected to teach all sciences in Key Stage 3. The science department is led by the Head of Department, supported by three subject leads for each of the three sciences. The science department operates from twelve specialist laboratories (one newly refurbished in summer 2022), each equipped to a high standard, and two preparation rooms. The department is supported by two technicians.

The successful candidate will:

• develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives
• facilitate learning by establishing effective relationship with pupils
• maintain organised learning resources
• create a positive learning environment in the classroom
• develop and foster the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of children
• assess and record progress and prepare pupils for national tests
• link pupils' knowledge to earlier learning and develop ways to encourage it further, challenging and inspiring pupils to help them deepen their knowledge and understanding.
