Teacher of PSHE and Citizenship

Location: Southall, West London
Salary: MPS (Inner London)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2024

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teacher of PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic Education) and Citizenship to join our dedicated team.

Role Overview:

As a Teacher of PSHE and Citizenship, you will play a crucial role in guiding students to become informed, responsible, and active members of society. You will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that cover a wide range of topics, including health and wellbeing, financial education, and social issues. Your role will involve fostering students' personal development and civic awareness, preparing them for life beyond school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality PSHE and Citizenship lessons to students across KS3 and KS4.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans that align with curriculum objectives and promote critical thinking.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students, catering to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support students' personal and academic growth.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages open discussion and respectful debate.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the overall development of the PSHE and Citizenship curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching PSHE and Citizenship at secondary level, with a track record of achieving excellent student outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of the PSHE and Citizenship curriculum and current educational practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
