As a science teacher, you will be responsible for teaching the core science subjects to students in years 7 to 11. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the modules taught across all key stages. You will also be expected to:
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs and interests of all learners
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources, such as inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, laboratory experiments, demonstrations, simulations, and digital tools
- Assess and monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and report on student achievement
- Collaborate with other science teachers and curriculum coordinators to develop and review the science curriculum and assessment criteria
- Participate in professional development activities and workshops to enhance your pedagogical skills and subject knowledge
- Contribute to the school's extracurricular program by leading or supporting science clubs, competitions, fairs, field trips, or other events
To be eligible for this role, youmust have:
- A bachelor's degree or higher in science or a related field
- A teaching qualification (PGCE/PGDE)
- At least two years of relevant teaching experience, or be a recent NQT
- A passion for science and a desire to inspire and motivate students
- A creative and innovative approach to teaching and learning
- A collaborative and collegial attitude towards colleagues and students
- A commitment to the school's mission, vision, and values
In return for your commitment,you will be accepted as an integral member of staff from day one, with access to CPD opportunities through both the school and Hays. You will be paid to scale as a comparable member of staff, and be given the same responsibilities as such. You will be required to provide an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one, along with other necessary checks as stipulated by the Department for Education.
