We are seeking to appoint a full-time or part-time Teacher of Textiles (Maternity Cover Contract) who can deliver high-quality learning opportunities for our students. Applications are welcomed from both experienced and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). The ideal candidate will start from September 2024, and the contract currently runs until Easter 2025. The successful candidate will teach Textiles on rotation at KS3, and a year 10 KS4 Textiles cohort with the Art & Design: Textiles AQA Specification. Our Textiles room is fully equipped with a fantastic range of machinery, and the successful candidate will be joining a vibrant and friendly DT department, with access to a shared Technician.
It would be advantageous for our successful candidate to be able to teach textiles up to KS4 and KS5 and at least one other technology discipline at KS3.

This is a fixed-term opportunity offering a MPS/UPS commensurate with experience.
Note that whilst the position is offered on a Maternity Cover basis initially until Easter 2025, every effort will be made to offer a substantive position thereafter, either at Leigh Academy Rainham or within the wider family of academies across Leigh Academies Trust.
