Job description

Due to increased demand within our Rolls Royce apprenticeship division, we are recruiting for new Teachers. We have a new opportunity for a new Teacher of Welding & Fabrication to join our apprenticeships team based at our client Rolls Royce in their Learning and Development Centre. This is an excellent opportunity to join a vibrant team providing an outstanding learning experience, through the delivery of engaging teaching, learning and assessment, which prepares our apprentices for the next stage in their career.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in Welding and Fabrication to join a vibrant team providing an outstanding learning experience, through the delivery of engaging teaching, learning and assessment, which prepares our apprentices for the next stage in their career. The team you’ll be joining is energetic and diverse, with colleagues ranging from recent graduates to those with over 35 years’ experience within the Engineering industry to those who have been teaching with us for less than a year.

You’ll be working with Rolls Royce apprentices ranging from 16 to 18 years old and adult apprentices on a variety of courses and supporting graduates with practical projects. You will be predominantly working in our apprentice workshop, where you will be teaching and assessing practical skills, and there may also be some classroom delivery. You will be supported to develop your teaching and assessing skills and will be mentored throughout your development period.

This role will be eligible for the new Government Levelling Up Premium Payments for Further Education (FE) teachers if you are in your first 5 years of teaching within FE. About you

We seek an individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for imparting their knowledge and experience to the upcoming generation of engineers. The ideal candidate will possess industry experience in Welding/Fabrication, along with a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in the subject, a HNC/ degree in a relevant discipline is desirable but not essential.

If you are not a qualified teacher, no problem! If you have industry knowledge, we will help you achieve Qualified Teacher Status.
