Owing to the promotion of our current SENDCo, our children are looking for a caring and knowledgeable SENDCo to join our amazing team.

We are a two form entry Church of England primary academy. We are research focused and have an inspiring team of teachers and support staff waiting to work alongside you to champion the needs of our children with SEN. Each class has a TA every day with additional staff who are trained in play therapy, speech and language and pastoral support to name but a few.

You will also lead our enhanced provision, overseen by our deputy head teacher. You will plan for the pupils in the provision and teach some of the whole group curriculum sessions.

The vast majority of your time will be undertaking the role of SENDCO, undertaking the assessments necessary to ensure our pupils have the right support in place and are making good progress. You will have good relationships within Norfolk and be familiar with the processes and paper work necessary within the county to gain EHCPs and funding for children with SEND.

You will have a track record of developing others and have experience in coaching and mentoring.

This is a strategic role as a member of the senior leadership team and as such carries a SEND Allowance.

Our perfect candidate will;

  • Hold the National Award for SENCO Qualification or the NPQ equivalent
  • Be an experienced teacher having taught children with SEMH and ASC.
  • Be a strong and experienced senior leader, who is committed to providing the highest standards of provision for SEND pupils
  • Be an excellent practitioner with high expectations and a commitment to raising standards
  • Be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, with all members of the school community
  • Be dedicated to their own professional development
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude to growing our team
  • Be familiar with working in Norfolk and have experience of the necessary procedures – processes and systems in place.
