Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess quality lessons tailored to the individual needs of each student, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within small class settings.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to provide a holistic and cohesive support system for students with SEND.
- Attend to the personal needs of students, including feeding and changing, with a compassionate and respectful approach.
- Maintain open and regular communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and collaborating on strategies to support learning at home.
- Stay current with best practices in SEND education and participate in relevant training to enhance personal and professional growth.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent SEND teaching qualification.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or the willingness to obtain one.
- Deliver instruction in an effective and age-appropriate manner.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum guidelines.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for supporting the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the educational experience.
