The Halterworth Training School Partnership ITT programme has a well established reputation and has trained over 200 teachers.
We work with a strong group of schools largely located in the Test Valley which has been praised by Ofsted and University of Winchester for the high quality Initial Teacher Training delivered to students over many years. Our training programmes cover the age ranges of 4 to 19 years (Primary & Secondary). We ensure that our teachers understand the need to secure positive transitions between primary and secondary. We also have very strong links with the Isle of Wight as part of a unique programme so that Island colleagues are able to learn alongside mainland trainees whilst having their school experience in a local school.
We are now looking to meet potential trainees who wish to apply from October onwards to begin the programme in September 2024. There are a range of opportunities available to meet and talk about training with us and also receive specific advice on submitting a strong application.
We offer:
- Training provided by the very best and experienced teachers within our schools
- Personalised coaching and support - we are very aware that people start TEACHER TRAINING from many different aspects of life
- Professional academic support from a university lecturer
- Schools who are committed to growing the best future teachers possible
- High standards of achievement in our schools
- Children who are enthusiastic learners
- At least two different school-based experiences within our group
- Ongoing support to develop your teaching career with ongoing training for newly and recently qualified teachers (ECT )
- Opportunities for experience of cross phase training
By the end of the programme, trainee teachers will be expected to have demonstrated a thorough understanding of the Core Content Framework for Initial Teacher Training and the Teachers' Standards.
