Technical Services at the University of Reading is growing its support to the Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Programme. We are seeking an individual that would identify as being a proactive problem solver. You will need to have an interest in learning new skills and techniques as well as demonstrating these to other colleagues and students.
The post will be within one of the Life Science technical teams, supporting the Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Programme including project students. The team operates across multiple buildings on campus and frequently support other teams. We expect all technical staff, where appropriate, to support other teams and colleagues.
You will have:
- Achievement of HNC, AS / A-level, NVQ3 or equivalent in a Science or Engineering related subject.
- A significant knowledge of techniques used in Biomedical Engineering e.g. CAD, electronics design and programming.
- Significant experience in operating equipment used in Biomedical Engineering e.g. 3D printers, computer-controlled motion, visual or temperature monitoring devices.
- Proficiency in the design and testing of electronic circuits, including sensors, small robots, and PC interfaces that send or receive data.
