We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and approachable Teaching Assistants to join our expanding Inclusion Team. The Team supports children with complex SEND and social and emotional needs across the School and Nursery.
We have opportunities starting from April and September 2024. The ideal candidate will have at least an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Education and experience of working with children aged from 2 years to 7 years old.
Fairisle Infant and Nursery School is a three-form entry school with a separate Nursery building on site. We are part of the Bridge Education Trust Southampton.
The school is an inclusive setting with an emphasis on a child-centered and family friendly approach to care and learning. We have supportive parents and Governors and our children are well behaved, enthusiastic and proud of their school.

We are looking for Teaching Assistants who are confident in:
- Working alongside class teachers.
- Delivering intervention groups.
- Supporting pupils with SEND and other complex needs.
- Nurturing and teaching children of all abilities.

They will have:
- A strong knowledge of EYFS / Primary education.
- An effective understanding / experience of working with children with SEND, including ADHD, ASD and ACEs.
- An appreciation of the importance of SEMH within school.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A good grasp of safeguarding procedures.
- An appreciation that all behaviour is communicating something and an ability to see beyond presenting behaviours and use a variety of strategies to support a child in crisis.
