SEN Teaching Assistant

I am working with a number of Primary schools around the Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and bath area to employ flexible support staff, before or after, Easter. We can employ on both a long term and short term basis, so whatever your wants and needs, we can adhere to. The schools in question are of a high academic standard, while supporting all forms of SEMH and SEN needs. KS1 and KS2 roles available.
Because of the nature of the role, experience with SEN is desirable, however this is a great step up for anyone wanting to work with additional needs - ranging from mild to complex. Resilience, patience, kindness and an understanding nature are all essential traits to form such important bonds that can really impact a child's life for the better.
Your role includes:
- preparing learning materials.
- adapt teaching support according to student's needs.
- look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare.
- create an interesting environment for students.
- keep records and attend review meetings.
- work with professionals such as speech and language therapists
- Help children understand instructions.
- Carry out a child's care plan.
- Encourage children to communicate.
- Give information and help to teachers.
- Support children during social activities and outings.
