Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship position at Alexander McLeod Primary School
At Alexander McLeod pride ourselves on having exceptionally high standards for all our pupils with regards to their learning, behaviour and overall conduct. We aim to nurture children to become responsible and influential citizens of the local community and beyond. As a values-led school, we work hard to ensure children are taught the importance of promoting core values including resilience, respect and perseverance. Weekly assemblies are held where children learn about each value in-depth and are further encouraged to model them during the school day.
We have designed a highly-engaging and creative, enquiry-based learning curriculum that draws upon the National Curriculum for guidance. With the enquiry-based learning approach, children have greater input in developing their own learning journeys. Exciting, cross-curricular topics are carefully and skilfully planned by expert teachers aimed at promoting a love of learning and developing a greater understanding of the world we live in. We encourage children to become critical thinkers. We place a great emphasis on nurturing a love of learning and challenging all our pupils to become the best learners they can be.
Educational visits are planned throughout the year to enhance the quality of the learning with children being able to suggest visits they believe would deepen their understanding. Residentials across Key Stage 2 are designed to develop independence and resilience in our pupils.
