Teaching Assistant Job In Leamington Spa

Your new school
Your new job is at a large three-form entry school on the outskirts of Leamington Spa, accessible from surrounding areas such as Warwick, Kenilworth, Stratford and Coventry. For this job, the school are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join their team until the end of the academic year. The hours of this job are 8.45- 15.15 Monday to Friday.

Your new job
Your new job will be working in a classroom environment assisting with Year 6 pupils. You will need to be able to work under the instructions of the teacher, but also work on your own initiative when necessary. Organisation in this job is essential, and you must have good knowledge of KS2 maths and English and be confident in carrying out small group learning. You must have good written skills for this job, and be willing to support individual pupils to access the learning where necessary. You will be regularly communicating with staff, parents/ careers and children, so good communication is a must. You must have strong behaviour management skills and be committed to ensure the children stay on task, and help to engage and encourage the children.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed as a Year 6 Teaching Assistant you will need to have experience working with children, and have worked in a childcare, within the past two years. You must be supportive and engaging, whilst demonstrating a professional manner. You must have strong maths and English skills. You must be willing to support the children through their SATS prep, take the children on trips, and take on any additional responsibilities that come with the role of fitting in as a valued member of the school teams.
