A specialist SEND school in Cheshire East are seeking Teaching Assistants to support the education of young people through daily participation in a range of outdoor education activities.

A specialist SEND school in Cheshire East are seeking Teaching Assistants to support young people in learning experiences outside the classroom, through taking part in a range of outdoor education activities. The young people at this provision have faced significant challenges in their lives, are not suited to learning in a mainstream classroom setting, yet flourish in an outdoor education setting. The ideal candidate will have experience of outdoor pursuits and either previous experience of supporting, or a desire to support, young people with SEND. This position is suitable for experienced Teaching Assistants or those considering a career in education.
GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT:
- Location - Cheshire East
- Position - Special Needs Teaching Assistant with a focus on outdoor education.
- Type of work -Teaching Assistant - No previous education experience required
- Start date - April 2024
- Duration / Likely Duration - 1 Year - ASAP the end of the academic year
- End date (if applicable) - tbc
- Contract type - Temporary with the view to going permanent
- Full time/part time - Full-time hours
- Minimum rate of pay £95 per day
- Hours - 8:15am - 4pm (full day) with a team meeting once a week until 4:30pm
TYPICAL DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Working with grousp of 5 - 6 students who require additional support - SEND / SEMH
- Supporting the class teacher, teaching lessons in an outdoor education setting
- Contribute to ensuring risk assessments are adhered to
- Writing reports and feeding back to teachers, SENCO, external agencies and parents
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Ideally you would both experience as a Teaching Assistant and have a passion for outdoor education.
- NO previous education experience is required to apply
- Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year - training provided if you need it free of charge
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
