They are calm and loving, but need support and reassurance. Your role will be to support them during school hours, but you will also need to be able to build and maintain a constructive rapport so that you can help them to manage their anxiety and develop independence. The child has no issues with behaviour, but is very introverted. They are currently in Y4, but during Y1 they struggled with selective mutism, however this has not happened since. The role is currently until Easter, however the school are eager to offer a permanent position for someone who is right in this role as they would like the child to be settled and benefit from the consistency a committed member of staff could give them. No experience or qualifications necessary for this role, however if you have experience with someone with mental health needs (SEMH), in particular anxiety or selective mutism, that would be advantageous!
