Teaching Assistant - Welsh Speaking

Your new school Hays are recruiting a Welsh-Speaking Teaching Assistant for a Welsh-Medium Primary School in Newport, which provides a fantastic standard of Welsh-Medium education for their pupils aged 3 to 11 years old. The school is much loved and highly regarded within the local community, providing an excellent standard of education for their students through the medium of Welsh. The role itself will involve working with small groups within year 1 class, supporting the students with engagement in schoolwork as well as the social aspects of school life. Your new role.
The role is confirmed long-term for an immediate start, working 5 days a week. The school are looking to offer a permanent Council contract to the right candidate. Duties relating to this role include but are not limited to:

• Supporting small groups of year 1 students through the medium of Welsh.
• Creating and maintaining a safe and enjoyable learning environment for pupils.
• Working as part of a close-knit and efficient team with other members of the teaching staff.
• Demonstrating high levels of care, patience, and empathy when dealing with potentially challenging behaviour.

What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this role, it is required that you possess at least 40 days of relevant experience over the course of the last 2 - 3 years and must be able to speak Welsh. Some of the key attributes needed for this role include enthusiasm, dedication, and a hardworking nature. Additional skills and attributes include empathy, calmness, problem-solving skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships. What you'll get in return
