Salary Teaching Assistant Level 2

• Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (Easter - Summer, with potential extension)
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join a school in Chorley. This role involves supporting Year 5 students and contributing to a positive learning environment. The position is set to commence from Easter until the summer term, with the possibility of continuing into the new academic year.
Day-to-day of the role:
• Assist the classroom teacher in preparing and delivering educational activities for Year 5 students.
• Provide support to individual students or small groups to help them understand the material and complete their tasks.
• Encourage students’ engagement and participation in the classroom.
• Monitor and record students’ progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised learning environment.
• Assist with the supervision of students during non-classroom times, including lunch and recess.
• Participate in school meetings and professional development sessions as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role.
• Strong understanding of the educational needs of Year 5 students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and other staff members.
• A patient, caring, and supportive approach to working with children.
