The post holder will be Team Leader of a multidisciplinary team of mental health practitioners in the Child and Adolescent Central Point of Referrals Service. Belfast CAMHS provides a Central Point for all CAMHS referrals at Step 2 & Step 3 within the CAMHS Regional Care Pathway. The Central Point of Referrals team links both Step 2 Primary Mental Health and Step 3 Generic CAMHS services. They will be required to triage all referrals into the services and decide the most appropriate pathway both within CAMHS if appropriate or signposting to voluntary and community services. They will undertake initial Choice holistic assessments of all clients accepted to Step 2 & Step 3 generic CAMHS. They will also hold a small caseload of clients who they will provide evidence based 1:1 treatment interventions to.The aim will be to deliver more effective and better coordinated referral and service delivery arrangements between CAMHS and referrers.The post holder will have a range of skills to take a lead in day to day management of staff, coordination of rota, skills management, delegation of tasks and core roles, supervision of staff and have a specific role in service development alongside a knowledge base to deliver clinical aspects of the role, make clinical decisions and be competent to provide a service as an autonomous band 7 practitioner within their professional guidelines..

5 years post qualifying experience with minimum of 3 years experience at Band 6/above within CAMHS, Adult Mental Health Team setting or equivalent position within an organisation dealing with children and young people with Mental Health difficulties , Experience of line managementEvidence of additional professional development i.e. post graduate/ post qualifying certificate/diploma in an area related to Children & Adolescents or Mental Health
