Role Overview:
Reporting to the Senior Content Delivery Manager, the Team Lead is responsible for the wider Content Editing team.This person’s key goal is to drive the team to deliver high-quality content to the JLR websites to a timescale which is in-line with project brief deadlines.
They are essential in ensuring they understand the projects going through the teams. Signing off all global builds to ensure it is set up correctly ahead of market localization.
Outside of this technical ability they will also have to work in a team ensuring that the department runs smoothly and those under them are provided with opportunities for growth and feedback. Alongside independently communicating regularly with external teams on QA status.
This role is critical in the Content Editing team as one that is: high-performing; delivering a quality output on-time; and developing its people both within their current roles and ready for future opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the QA of global content builds and ensuring the following market builds are executed correctly via the Senior QAs and wider QA team. This may include spot checks and second QA of tasks completed within the team, identifying and escalating promptly to the DX Ops team where training trends are required.
- Ensuring project kick offs are happening and attended either by themselves or responsible members of their team.
- Attending various meetings to escalate any team issues and leading on any required actions to resolve and feeding back to resource teams where relevant.
- Ensure that we have in place the right technical steps for delivery. Preparing adequately for launches, maintaining and monitoring freezes and protecting embargoed content.
- Understanding technical overlaps across multiple internal and external operating DX teams and how this can impact delivery of projects.
- Ability to troubleshoot and manage queries from the wider team on any technical related issues – including bugs, component functionality or build actions. Mitigating the volume of requests going via the Helpdesk team, acting as a first response.
- Understanding of new technology and components on the JLR websites to ensure they know what is coming alongside the Technology and Delivery Manager.
- Ensuring that adequate training is provided through their Senior QAs for new and existing team members, flagging when more training is required and ensuring this is delivered. Responsible for creating a team with a culture of quality, professionalism and an ethos of right-first-time.
- Responsible for managing the QA work via the SynOps filters – daily resourcing responsibilities of the wider QA team.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining Content Editing & QA policies and procedures across the Content Editing team. Pro-actively working closely with the DX Ops team to ensure they keep improving.
- Assessing briefs ahead of these being shared widely across the team and that any issues are corrected and investigated in a timely way.
- Leading their own team meetings alongside the TL Editor as an opportunity to discuss success’ and challenges within the team.
- Help manage the recruitment within their teams to ensure we are working at full capacity.
