Team Leader needed

SureStaffing UK Ltd are looking to recruit Team Leader, for our client based in Bradford area. Our client is UK's leading, independent contract packer working across a variety of sectors - including food, drink, beauty and household products.

Please note candidate may be required to work over two sites- BD5 and BD12.

This is a permanent position, candidates will be chosen through interview process.

Ideal candidate for a Team Leader role will have:

• good level of English & Maths both written and spoken (required)
• Previous experience in similar role (preferred)
• Experience in fast-paced factory environment (required)

Responsibilities and Duties of a Team Leader

• Ensure production lines are organised and set up to always start on time.
• Manage and motivate staff to achieve company targets.
• Coach and develop the Team Leaders on line to achieve the set target at a high level of quality. Assessing staff skills and developing them appropriately.
• Addressing any production team related performance issues with a diplomatic and structured approach.
• Investigate production related issues, identify root cause and respond to the situation appropriately.
• Encourage creativity and ideas from team members.
• Communicate effectively within the production team and the wider business.
• Ensure continuous improvement activities are encouraged and deployed within the production team.
• Use lean techniques to optimise and improve production lines.
• Work with relevant departments to make sure any problems are closed out or escalated to your manager in a timely manner.
• Ensure line cleardown procedures are strictly adhered to at the end of each shift.
• Provide cover for the Production Manager and lead the production meeting.
• Verify that all production lines are in keeping with the customer specifications.
• Ensure Team Leaders maintain traceability at all times for the incoming goods and finished stock.
• Carry out line checks to confirm Team Leaders are following all the procedures.
• Escalate any production line with a high quantity of rejects and work with the production team to investigate the matter.
• Make certain the pre-line start up safety check sheets have been filled in by the Team Leaders before production starts.
• Enforce the correct wear and use of PPE to allow for a safe working environment.
• Responsible for ensuring the production area, equipment and machinery is clean and tidy ready for production to start, taking into account the prevention of cross contamination from previous products or foreign bodies and escalating any areas that do not comply to the hygiene team

Shift times for a Team Leader:

• Various shifts (8hrs + additional 30 min before and after shift- paid)
• Flexibility is required
• Shifts will involve nights and weekends
• 6-2; 2-10 (rotation) + nights

Pay Rates for Team Leader:

• 10.86-12.15/ hour
• Salary depends on experience of a candidate
