Team Leader (Warehouse):
Are you a natural leader with a passion for optimising warehouse operations? We are seeking a Team Leader to oversee a dedicated section within the warehouse, supporting the Management Team in achieving seamless day-to-day operations. In this role, you'll be responsible for a small team of operatives, ensuring the efficient functioning of the warehouse to meet business targets, customer requirements, and quality standards. Your focus will be on individual performance improvement, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
General and Task Management:
- Run an efficient warehouse operation to meet customer demand and targets.
- Coordinate material deliveries in line with production schedules.
- Train and on-board new Warehouse Operatives.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Record stock movements accurately.
- Organise and participate in regular stock takes.
- Identify system improvements and recommend changes.
- Resolve warehouse issues and escalate as needed.
- Produce reports and statistics covering KPIs.
- Review waste reduction strategies.
- Assist in capacity planning.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain security standards.
- Foster a clean and tidy working environment.
People Management:
- Manage time and attendance for your team.
- Communicate priorities and targets to staff.
- Support recruitment and training.
- Monitor performance and report progress to supervisors.
Relationship Management:
- Liaise with customer services, transport companies, and drivers as needed.
Self-Management:
- Comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies.
- Embrace change and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Contribute proactively to team development.

Level of Autonomy and Decision Making: You will ensure your team operates efficiently, focusing on training and mentoring. Meeting targets, maintaining records, and collaborating with other Team Leaders are essential aspects of this role.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Supervisory and Team Leader experience in a similar environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in IT, including spreadsheets and databases.
- Analytic and numerical skills.
- Understanding of customer deliverables and quality impact.
- Planning and deadline-oriented.
- Attention to detail.
- Flexibility in changing work requirements.
- GCSEs Level A-C, NVQ Level 2.
- Warehousing qualification is advantageous.
- Certified in Dangerous Goods Handling is a plus.
- Supervisory qualification is beneficial.
- Proven Warehouse Team Leader experience.
- Good knowledge of health and safety.
- Understanding of lean techniques is advantageous.
- Fork Lift Truck license may be required.
- Commitment to professional accreditation with an industry-related body.
