Job description

 We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Team Manager to join our team in Leaving Care.

Job title: Team Manager - Leaving Care
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
Hours: 36 hours per week
Salary: up to £54,262 per annum + welcome bonus & annual retention bonus

Responsibilities and Duties:
To oversee the day to day running of the service.
To ensure the quality of care and support provided to children and families is consistent with current legislation, policies, procedures and best practice.
To manage the allocation, assessment, planning, review and evaluation of cases within the team, and to ensure that all statutory duties and timescales are met.
To provide professional supervision, support, guidance and feedback to social workers and other staff in the team, and to promote their learning and development.
To manage the performance, conduct and well-being of the staff in the team, and to address any issues or concerns promptly and appropriately.
To manage the budget and resources of the team, and to ensure that they are used effectively and efficiently.
To make strategic decisions about the future and growth of the service, and to contribute to service improvement and development initiatives.
To liaise and work in partnership with other professionals and agencies, such as health, education, police, courts, voluntary sector or specialist services, to coordinate and deliver integrated services for children and families.
To safeguard and promote the welfare of the children and families who use the service, and to protect them from abuse, neglect or harm.
To involve and engage children and families in the decision making process, and to respect their views, rights and diversity.

Knowledge & Skills:
Ability to work within a framework of legislation, guidance, divisional policies, and procedures while being accountable to senior officers.
Effective communication and relationship-building skills with children, carers, and professionals.
Capability to work collaboratively in a team and establish professional partnerships with various stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills to assess situations and develop appropriate intervention programs.
Demonstrated understanding, knowledge, and skills in valuing diversity.
In-depth knowledge legislation, regulations, and guidance, such as the new assessment framework.
Familiarity with available services for children and families and the organisational framework for service delivery.
Ability to manage a team of social workers.

Experience:
Experience in children and families social work management within a statutory, voluntary, or independent sector organisation.

Qualifications:
CQSW / DIPSW / Degree in Social Work or equivalent.

Special Conditions:
SWE Registered
Satisfactory DBS
Must have completed ASYE
