About the role

We are looking to recruit a Team Manager Through Age to join our Carers and Community Support Team on a full-time basis.

About the role

The Post Holder will be responsible for managing and developing the work of our Carers and Community Support Team which both: provides support and information for unpaid carers of all ages and supports the wider population of the county to access support and information within their communities.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • effectively Lead, manage, and develop staff and provision within the Carers and Community Support Team.
  • be the lead manager within the Council responsible for ensuring high quality support and development opportunities to unpaid Carers in Ceredigion.
  • be the lead manager within the Council responsible for ensuring high quality Community Support and development opportunities to strengthen the Council’s community-based response within Social Care.
  • regularly monitor, evaluate and report on Team Performance.
  • ensure that the needs of those accessing our services are fully understood and accommodated in the development, delivery, promotion and improvement of services.
  • ensure that services are managed and delivered in a co-ordinated way and in compliance with agreed policies and standards.
  • ensure that a citizen and outcomes focussed culture is promoted at all times.

Our ideal Candidate

We are looking to recruit an individual:

  • with effective management and leadership skills with the ability to think, creatively and innovatively and to put ideas into effective action whilst demonstrating openness to new ideas
  • who is committed to the principles of co-production and practices of customer care, ensuring excellence in service delivery and recognition of its impact on the those accessing the service
  • who possesses a minimum of three years’ experience within Social Care/Youth Community Development sector and has experience of managing a team.
  • with a track record of successfully leading, managing and continuously improving teams
  • with a history of successful working with internal and external stakeholders resulting in high quality service delivery, strong relationship building skills and team working.

We welcome applications from non-Welsh speakers. All successful applicants requiring support to learn/improve their Welsh language skills will be offered funded lessons, during work time, to help reach the desired standard.
