Position Description
Challenge yourself and change lives, unlocking complex system solutions as part of a highly motivated and supportive team. Our Technical Architects are trusted to work closely with a wide range of clients. Join us in our Central Government Business Unit and work on major new programmes of work that have real-world purpose, and a positive impact on UK Citizens' lives.
CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2023 and has been named one of the Worlds Best Employers by Forbes magazine. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a member not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent, and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and youll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. Well train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.
As these are hybrid roles, you may be required to work on a client site for a day from time to time (Manchester, Bristol, London) for client workshops and events. In the longer term there may be a requirement for on-site work to increase but the majority of work will still be remote. All applicants must also hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (SC) level.
Your future duties and responsibilities
This is a key role right at the heart of the technical delivery team. Your role will be responsible for taking the high level solution designs and working directly with the team to create the lower-level designs to enable delivery. This is very much a hands-on role so youll need to be adaptable and ideally have a good understanding of Government Service standards. In this role youll be the technical face of the team. Youll also be responsible for representing technical decisions made as service standard assessments and with stakeholders. Further youll work directly on the delivery team collaborating with the Product Manager and UCD team to inspect and adapt their designs enabling iteration to meet Government Service Standards.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
As a Technical Architect you must have a good understanding of a broad range of technologies. Youll also need to be able to explain your designs to the developers ensuring they understand the context and purpose of their development work. Youll need to be able to converse easily with, and translate between, non-technical stakeholders and technical practitioners, as well as being able to switch between different problems and responsibilities and directly involved in service delivery. If you can demonstrate successful track record of using these skills, ideally but not essentially, on Government services wed like to hear from you.
