Job Title: Technical Author

Location: Airbus, Filton

Accountabilities

• Technical\/Authoring activities
• Subcontracting activities management
• Validation & Verification activities
• Design criteria management
• Customer relationship & support

Main Activities

Technical Activities:

• Ensure compliance with EASA\/FAA regulations and EN9100 for technical scope.
• Manage authoring activities within designated technical scope.
• Act as technical focal point for various domains and companies.
• Assess aircraft design criteria for manual impact.
• Alert for any impact on others ATA chapters.
• Define and follow up on product manual revisions.
• Write maintenance, troubleshooting, material, and wiring procedures.
• Maintain aircraft configuration for all written procedures.
• Harmonize program tasks and verify source data for technical consistency.

Validation & Verification:

• Prioritize and proofread procedures for internal and external production.
• Apply the SARI process in case of findings.

Design Criteria:

• Contribute to design criteria assessment.
• Manage integration of design criteria impacting Technical Data.
• Provide technical justification for non-integrated design criteria.
• Coordinate with other SED organizations on potential impacts.

Customer Relationship & Support:

• Provide continuous and efficient support to customers and users.
• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of deliverables.
• Implement preventive\/corrective actions based on customer feedback.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in Technical Authoring within aerospace industry preferred.
• Knowledge of EASA\/FAA regulations and EN9100 standards.
• Strong technical writing and editing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in technical writing tools and software.
• Customer-focused with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
