Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment have partnered with a global manufacturing and distribution company in their search for a Technical Author! This is an 8-12 month contract.

Our client is highly regarded for their innovative approach, core values, and outstanding reputation as an employer. As they push forward, they are actively seeking a driven Technical Author to take on a pivotal role in their manufacturing operations.

Working in collaboration with the Quality Manager, you will be producing and controlling high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of the company’s products and services on their journey to be best in class!

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organisational requirements.
  • Create a user-friendly library of related documents.
  • Drive the standardisation of processes and implementation standard practices.
  • Work proactively with managers to evaluate current documentation or processes and develop innovative methods for improvement.
  • Create tutorials to support staff to ensure adherence to relevant tasks or activities.
  • Communicating with internal management teams, departmental heads and general teams, and external regulatory authorities, customers, contractors, and consultants
  • Support special projects, as required, utilizing previous experience.  Projects currently scheduled, requiring support, include:
    • Transition of ERP system including all related updates to SOP’s/WI required by the new system
    • Supporting the Quality function to ensure adherence to customer projects/Quality requirements.
