Technical Author

A Basildon based company who design and manufacture production line equipment are keen to recruit an Technical Author / Validation Engineer to work as part of their documentation department.

The role will involve supporting Project Managers and Engineering Technicians on a variety of tasks including performing tests on machines to support the verification process and going on to produce all technical documentation required.

Duties:

• Carry out testing on machinery within the factory
• Report tests results and provide feedback
• Assist in the review and update of equipment design
• Produce specification and qualification documentation
• Liaising with all departments during the equipment build process
• Prepare equipment Operator and Technical Manuals in line with relevant machinery
• standards and essential health and safety requirements for UKCA/CE marking, functional safety, ATEX certification
• Liaise with supplies and customers validation departments
• Long term you will be able to conduct site acceptance tests at customer sites

Requirements:

• Candidates must be a HNC trained engineering apprentice or be an engineering graduate
• Must have some previous experience gained within an engineering environment
• Previous test and validation experience would be preferable
• Experience of Technical Authoring would be a benefit
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
