Job Description
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including manuals, procedures, product specifications, and project reports.
- Collaborate with engineers to gain an in-depth understanding of product functionality and specifications.
- Translate complex product information into clear, concise and user-friendly content.
- Review and edit existing content for clarity, grammar and formatting.
- Ensure technical verbiage is easy to understand by the layperson.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Contribute to the maintenance of the Technical Authoring tools and systems.
- Adhere to company standards and guidelines when creating documents.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Technical Author should have:
- A degree in a related field such as English, Technical Writing, Mechanical or Engineering.
- Strong technical writing skills with an ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, concise manner.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Proficiency in a range of authoring tools and software.
- Good communication skills with an ability to liaise with various teams.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a desire to continually learn and improve.
