Technical Author

Base Salary: up to £44K PLUS Generous holiday allowance, up to 10% bonus, Contributory pension scheme (they will double your contribution up to 10%), Contributory share scheme, Access to: health & dental plans, EV car lease, holiday purchase

Wimborne: Hybrid working (2 days WFH / 3 days in the office)

39 hours a week (Mon - Fri)

What would the Technical Author do?

  • Create, illustrate, and update new & revised Technical/Parts publications/information
  • Provide support to NPI activities + create/maintain Aftermarket service kits publications
  • Create, publish, and revise Service/Parts Bulletins arising from product field issues
  • Create/revise illustrations, as required + arrange language translations
  • Validate published documents on the appropriate authoring system
  • Ensure technical product compliance documents are in line with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure technical emissions compliance with international maritime standards

What skills and experience will the Technical Author need?

  • Previous demonstrated experience of Technical Authoring
  • Ability to understand how components interrelate, are serviced/maintained, and can be assembled and disassembled
  • Conceptual understanding of drawings in three dimensions
  • Excellent communicator who can independently plan, organise, and prioritise workload
  • Ability to research/validate technical information
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word) and Adobe packages
  • Reasonable industrial photographic skills are necessary & technical language skills are desirable
  • Knowledge of global compliance standards is desirable, which would include applicable EU directives as well as international marine standards
