Technical Compliance Engineer

About you 

As our Technical Compliance Engineer within our Test and Development team, you will take ownership of the full product lifecycle compliance of whole vehicle design and implementation related to current or future vehicles. You will need to have a broad understanding across multiple disciplines including mechanical design, technical design as well as test and development.
You will have experience in a similar role and within a serial production environment, with the ability to communicate efficiently in both an upward and downward chain. You will need to have a structured; organised mindset and be lateral thinking in agile environments. 
About the role 

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
• To manage Whole vehicle/system/ component homologation and approvals.
• Provide interpretation of UK and international legislative requirements including design for compliance.
• Communication of requirements throughout the organization.
• Execute testing and report status of homologation programmes into key programme forums.
• Provide point of contact for engineers for homologation and certification guidance.
• Maintain regular contact with The Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) and other agencies to ensure that any external influences are known and included in the vehicle design.
• Investigating impending regulations and their effect on the whole vehicle design and devising a strategy to support longer term requirements.
• Maintain communication with The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT)
