Job Introduction

This role reports to the UE Service Manager.

The User Experience team provide 2nd line support within Brighton and Hove City council.

The role involves supporting IT equipment including desktops, laptops, mobile devices and fault finding / patching within the network.
As well as working on faults escalated from 1st line the User Experience team also action service requests for new equipment and software. Work can also involve supporting projects with testing and deployment of devices. Experience with Windows OS and Apple iPhones is advantageous.

You will ensure the smooth, timely and successful installation of IT equipment and to assist in the analysis, planning and execution of IT-related functions in support of configuration changes and scheduled operations.

You will provide exemplary IT technical and customer support, whilst ensuring the services delivered meet customer satisfaction requirements.

You will possess an ability to work independently and effectively supervise a team of technicians.

As part of the role, you will provide and update guidance and procedures for both technical staff and user guides for customers.

You will be based predominantly at Hove Town Hall though will be expected to travel to other council sites within Brighton and Hove.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

These would be part of your individual working arrangements alongside any personal preference agreed with your manager in advance of joining. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.

IT&D have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Consultant within the User Experience team.

Do you have excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills, as well as a good knowledge of current IT developments and best practices?

As the User ExperienceTeam Leader, you will be responsible for leading the team and providing IT support to over 5000 council employees.
