About the Opportunity
Investment in the UK Water sector is at unprecedented levels. We have a huge opportunity to build and shape the delivery of this investment through our growing strategic relationships with the largest UK water companies. From feasibility studies and planning, to design, construction management and operations and maintenance, we bring together the talent and expertise necessary to deliver success, and we are proud of our extensive portfolio of work and broad capability.
These large portfolios require us to develop and expand delivery teams within our business which are purpose built to deliver to our clients' needs over the next asset management cycle. Our Technical Delivery Leads are responsible for mobilising, building and managing our delivery teams using local, national and global resource.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Accountable for the delivery of technical elements on portfolios of single or multi-client projects; ensure consistency in the way we deliver projects within Technical Delivery Team and apply continuous improvement in our delivery approach.
  • Provide leadership to Technical Delivery Team, including design managers, project managers and engineering disciplines, who are responsible for the delivery of projects/programme in respects to time, cost and quality of technical outcomes
  • Mentor deputies who will be expected to lead their own teams in the future as we expand to meet expected workload.
  • Create a delivery ethos in their team with a can-do attitude supported by openness and sharing.
  • Identify delivery efficiency improvements and lessons learnt and share these knowledge with the other Technical Delivery Leads
  • Coordinate with other Technical Delivery Leads to ensure balanced workload across our Water business.
  • Support Framework Manager and Capture Manager in the bid process for new projects to ensure a healthy and fulsome backlog of works for their Technical Delivery team.
  • Support our resourcing process by identifying skills needs and supporting redeployment and recruitment activities.
  • Show exemplary behaviour in personal and team health, safety and wellbeing management in accordance with our BeyondZero approach.
  • Bring innovation to the programme, reaching back into our extensive organisation, identifying, and deploying our capability to maximise client value. Drive value plus ideas within Technical Delivery Team.
  • Drivee the use of our national and global capacity including our global delivery centres

Here's What You'll Need:
  • Track record of delivery through leadership of multi-disciplinary teams as a senior design or project manager
  • Degree in an engineering or project management related discipline with chartered status.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills, evidenced through delivery of results in complex operational environments, leading teams and mentoring staff.
  • Excellent client and stakeholder management skills.
