Technical Design Assistant

The Technical team at 59 Productions work alongside the design studio, realising the technical delivery of the company's ambitious and global portfolio of multidisciplinary design work. We are open to both those with direct experience in our industries as well as those with experience in other industries looking to transfer their skills to our collaborative creative environment and studio.

The Technical Design Assistant is a key member of the Technical department and primarily responsible for the specification, design and deployment of technical equipment used in the production of the design studio's work. They will collaborate closely with the design team and Project Directors to develop concepts, presentations, communication and delivery of our projects. The successful person will have a strong interest in working with a range of technical and design disciplines. The role will work in close contact with the lead designers on our projects, discussing the design concept, project needs and developing solutions to deliver our design concepts into reality. A key role of the Technical Design Assistant will be to produce drawings indicating how equipment will be positioned, configured and used. They will work alongside others in the Technical team to ensure that the physical elements are coordinated to work together, always delivering on the key priorities of safety, reliability, creative intent and audience experience.

Technical Drafting in 2D and 3D are key requirements of the role ensuring that the design is correctly described in the drawings, and actively both produce and collaborate with others in the expression of the design. You will be able to make an equipment list and work on producing a schematic to describe required systems. The Technical Design Assistant will join the rest of the Technical team to drive innovation in the process of the retention of gained knowledge in this process and swiftly produce paperwork to an excellent standard.
