They have multiple offices across the UK and have a solid reputation for successful project delivery throughout numerous sectors within the Built Environment. Projects can vary from small works to £100m+ across Education, Heritage, High-End Residential, Cultural, Laboratories and more. They have a very modern, open-plan office space and offer excellent opportunities for progression.They are currently seeking either a Technical Director with a Mechanical bias (Building Services) to join their Edinburgh office and assist with successful project delivery.
Role
- Leading and managing a team of engineers and technicians
- Overseeing the design, installation and maintenance of mechanical systems in buildings
- Collaborating with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and quality of mechanical systems.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Managing project budgets and timelines.
- Providing technical expertise and guidance to the team.
- Conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback to team members.
Qualifications / Experience
- A bachelor's or masters degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Chartered engineer with CIBSE or IET.
- Extensive experience in the design and installation of mechanical systems in buildings.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in leading teams and overseeing projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to Mechanical Building Services.
- Excellent technical expertise in HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection and other mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in mechanical design and analysis.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
