Our client is vastly proud of their on-site installation and technical support team and due to a phenomenal year, are looking to add to this by recruiting an experienced Technical Engineer to join their Malvern site.
Technical Engineer main duties:
* To assist in the diagnosing and troubleshooting of technical problems on environmental monitoring systems and components and to take action to rectify failures and non-conformances.
* Serve as first line support, escalating to senior colleagues and engaging assistance of colleagues as required
* Assist with documenting and testing any new products, features and additions to continually develop and improve the FMSL product range and engineering procedures, and manage ongoing component compatibility.
* Assist with the initial set up of in-house test systems and manage these test systems going forward.
* Assist the project delivery team with fully documenting and testing in-house control panels and component builds.
* Assist the project delivery team with delivery of assigned tasks associated with system installations, upgrades and migrations from receipt of order to final handover to the customer.
* Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing with customers, colleagues and suppliers, interpreting and responding to verbal or written instructions.
* Assist with planning and delivering technical training for staff and customers.
* Client site visits as appropriate and as required.
* Supporting the commercial team in the calculation, preparation and issue of quotations and proposals.
Technical Engineer desired skills and experience:
* Degree, HND, (or equivalent) in ICT and/or engineering technology or equivalent experience-based learning.
* Minimum of two years’ experience in an engineering, ICT or customer support role.
* Experience in implementing or supporting commercial/industrial hardware, computers, software applications or networking.
* Experience in fault finding on computer networks and electrical circuits beneficial.
* Ability to work within a team and contribute to the team effort.
* Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent computer, software application and networking skills.
* Desire to learn and be curious about how things work, or why they don’t work.
* Being professional, technical and analytical.
* Being literate and numerically literate.
