Job Description
We are searching for Technical Director to join us here at AECOM, within the tunnelling team team, leading and keeping focus on our project deliveries.
Role:
+ Provide engineering technical leadership for the tunnelling team, focusing on project delivery.
+ Give leadership and advise on design of tunnels, shafts, and underground civil/structures. Experience of designing precast concrete segmental tunnel linings, sprayed concrete linings and different forms of shaft construction (such as D-walls, secant piles, segments and SCL).
+ Provide guidance and development of the team from a technical perspective.
+ Leads the delivery of design for tunnelling and Underground Structures projects. This will include major multidisciplinary infrastructure projects where the candidate will be responsible for the quality and technical delivery of the tunnelling elements of the works.
+ Make the decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and industry best practice.
+ Initiate and maintain extensive contacts with senior-level engineers within the company and externally including Contractor Clients, End Clients, supply chain partners and statutory bodies.
+ Will demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual engineering challenges, delivering to program objectives and project requirements; and developing the approach to the delivery of engineering design activities.
+ This position will reports to the Head of Tunnelling but will be expected to work independently within the tunnelling discipline.
Qualifications
+ Must be a chartered engineer with a recognised relevant body such as the ICE.
+ Involved with wider industry bodies such as the BTS, ICE or IStructE. Will be seen within the industry as a recognised specialist in tunnelling and will be expected to promote the profile of AECOM through presentations at conferences and published papers.
