There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our Group Head Office is looking to recruit a Technical & Innovation Coordinator to join the Group Technical team. This role can be offered as a Technical & Innovation Coordinator or a senior position depending on experience.
The Role
The role of Technical & Innovation Coordinator will be to focus on supporting Bellway’s understanding of the continuous changes to building regulations and the new construction techniques, products, and solutions required to deliver the home of the future. Working with our supply chain partners and consultants to identify and establish best practice, guidance, and tools. This will include conducting desk top projects and on-site research to assess the theoretical & real-life performance of new solutions, alongside their practicality and cost for delivery. The role also includes the further development of studies into the CO2 emissions arising from Bellway operations, the homes built and that of the supply chain in the manufacturing of construction products.
Principle accountabilities of the role include:
Maintain up to date with legislation and regulations as well as understanding future regulations that are coming into effect within the industry
Working alongside external consultants and suppliers
Attend site-based & supply chain partner meetings
Production and review of Energy calculations SAP (standard assessment procedure) & HEM (Home Energy Model)
Compliance tools L12021 and FHS
Sensitivities and drivers
Production and review of dynamic modelling TM59
Thorough understanding of Part O and the mitigation measures required for compliance.
Production and review of Whole Life Carbon analysis.
Embodied carbon calculations to support product selection.
Ensure complete design solution delivered in line with company standards
Support Technical & design teams and colleagues with information requests
Support, mentor and manage Trainee and Graduate Technicians
Experience, Qualifications and Skills
Experience
Experience of working with Autodesk Revit & AutoCAD is desirable
Experience working within the housebuilding industry in a technical / architectural function.
Knowledge of building regulations and current NHBC standards
Qualifications and Training
Qualified to degree level or HNC/HND in a Construction / Architectural Technology subject with relevant experience
CSCS card or equivalent
Current full driving licence
Skills and Aptitude
Strong communication, listening, presentation skills and excellent attention to detail
Ability to be able to express technical information in a clear and concise manner
Methodical, conscientious, organised and works to deliver high standards
Ability to recognise problems and deal with them in a speedy and effective manner
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systems
