About the team:
Our Settlement and Reconciliations & Accounting function in Manchester provides essential support to the business with financial reporting and responsible for the reconciliation of high-volume merchant and card scheme processing together with the reconciliation of domestic and international bank accounts.
What you will be doing:
We are looking for a Technical Lead to support the WPG team with daily reconciliations and merchant settlement activities. This role requires someone with extensive experience of complex Reconciliations who can take ownership of issues through route cause analysis.
This is a highly visible role which will work closely with other teams including finance, product owners, Audit and relationship managers and auditors to help fix issues and improve ways of working. You will lead on incident calls and have regular contact with large external ECommerce companies to resolve data issues and request changes to settlements information received. You will also help with training and upskilling the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire specialist knowledge to provide accurate advice and information to both internal and external sources, taking full ownership through to resolution.
- Team support for Incident management.
- Daily completion of all data uploads and identify process improvement through automation.
- Journal validation and approval of simple journals, preparation of complex journals for approval by manager.
- Complex query investigation, resolution, and stakeholder engagement.
- Continued process improvements.
- Sign off daily checklist.
- Month end tasks (MI/KPI's reporting and distribution).
- Audit tasks fully resolved and owned.
- Lead on various projects.
- Knowledge of Reconciliations and accounting principles.
- Financial statements, practices and procedures.
- Skilled in analytical and statistical examination.
- Any Audit experience
