Our client, a leading market supplier within the drinks industry, are currently looking to hire an experienced professional to join their Materials Development Technical team on a permanent basis.

Based near Long Crendon, this company has been in business for over 300 years and has a high staff retention rate. Due to the location, your own form of transport is required to commute to work.
This is predominantly an office based role responsible for the creation of product specifications, technical drawings and costings based upon the project brief provided by the assigned Materials Development Commercial (MDC) team member.
The Role:
• Acting as the direct liaison with the designated supply chain partner, ensure that the product design is optimised for customer requirements and in line with associated production capabilities.
• Where appropriate provide recommendations on potential improvements to design features that may add value.
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with customer demand and business expectations, providing timely and regular updates on progress to relevant stakeholders.
• Use initial briefing documentation to develop optimal design and product / drawing specification, based on manufacturing capabilities and by liaising with design agencies, bottle suppliers and other relevant parties as required.
• Manage changes and/or revisions of specification as required, in consideration of supply chain capabilities or customer needs.
• Provide detailed cost price matrix, including any origination charges to the assigned MDC for the agreed finished product specification.
• Provide full details to assigned MDC of supply parameters including minimum order runs and lead times.
• On occasion, deal directly with customers on any technical and/or product specification enquiries via the appropriate method of communication.
• Sign off supply chain partners specifications.
• Order and manage process for pre-production samples when required.
• Assist with the management of the critical development path of materials for new projects or changes to existing products.
• Evaluate and approve pre-production samples for release to customers for approval if required.
• Provide cover for Quality Control and positive release on incoming products, and when doing so assist in raising any Product Non Conformance issues.

The Reward:
• Hours: 08:00-17:00, Monday to Friday
