If you have any queries regarding this vacancy, please contact Gabrielle Hayes on 01382 436842 or email gabrielle.hayes@dundeecity.gov.ukYou will have an HNC/SVQ level 3, or equivalent, in a relevant subject.​Your primary responsibilities include, as required, surveying properties and examining necessary documentation and preparing reports in respect of applications and enforcement action for the regulation of Licenses for Houses in Multiple Occupation, Short-term Let Licensing and Landlord Registration. Secondary and tertiary responsibilities include to assist the Senior Private Sector Services Officer in surveying properties and examining plans, bills of quantities and estimates at application stage, interim inspections and instalment claims during the progress of the work and examining final accounts, in connection with improvement and repairs, including Care and Repair, to private sector properties and evaluating the amount applicable to grant.
You will survey Council owned properties when required.You will have relevant experience in inter-agency working, surveying properties and identification of typical building defects and remedial works.
You will have experience dealing with the public face to face and in confrontational situations, and work with sensitive issues on a private and confidential basis.
You will have good organisational skills and working to fixed deadlines, good written/oral communication and IT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Office 365.
You will have a current driving licence and a willingness to work out of hours.
