Job description

Company Description
Life can sometimes be unpredictable, and it pays to plan ahead. Our aim at Legal & General Retail is to help our customers plan for the unexpected, achieve financial security for their tomorrow, and protect everything that's important to them. To better understand our customers and meet their needs, we've brought our protection, retirement income, savings, lending and advice, fintech and mortgage businesses under one umbrella. Created at the start of 2022 through the merging of our long-standing and trusted retail retirement and insurance businesses, we're a fast-growing division with big, customer-centered ambitions.
Job Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Product Manager to join us in Barnsley!
You'll play a key role in ensuring the business has up to date information about lender criteria, affordability measures and available mortgage products to ensure Legal & General's broker sourcing systems are accurate and to optimise the positioning of lenders products. You'll also own the product journey and process flows whilst identifying risks and putting appropriate mitigators in place.
If you're an experienced Product Manager looking for their next challenge, then this could be the ideal opportunity for you!
We will accept applications from across the UK but there is an expectation to travel into our Barnsley office.
What you'll be doing
  • Researching, monitoring and analysing competitor propositions, to provide mortgage market insight for the business, our lending partners and to assist our wider product and distribution teams
  • Ensuring the business has up to date information about lender criteria, affordability measures and available mortgage products to ensure Legal & General's broker sourcing systems are accurate and to optimise the positioning of lenders products
  • Working extensively with internal, market and external stakeholders to ensure effective inbound and outbound communications for LGMS products - ensuring smooth Lender onboarding onto our tools and high adviser usage
  • Developing relationships with mortgage lenders, to maximise the product range available through Legal and General Mortgage Services
  • Undertaking appropriate customer research and product testing to provide assurance that the product / proposition will perform as expected to meet the needs, characteristics, and objectives of customers in the target market
Qualifications
What we're looking for
  • We'd welcome individuals who have a broad knowledge of the mortgage lifecycle - perhaps you're looking to continue your mortgage career in a more product focused role?
  • You'll be well versed in working with colleagues at a variety of seniority levels
  • Financial Services experience
Additional Information
When you commit to Legal & General, we'll commit to you too. That means we'll recognise and reward your hard work, your performance and your contribution.
If you join us, you'll get access to some great benefits, including private medical insurance, at least 25 days holiday (excluding bank holidays), a generous pension scheme, life assurance, and Income Protection. You can participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice. The brand with the brolly is choosing today to change tomorrow.
