Signpost Productions is an award-winning production company based in the North East of England. Every commission comes with a commitment that the production crew will be as diverse as possible. Signpost Productions is a production unit that is part of ITV, producing more than 1,500 hours of content every year for broadcasters, businesses, commercial brands and digital channels.

We are currently looking for a Technical Production Specialist to join the team at Signpost. In this role you will work as part of a team operating a broad variety of technical equipment delivering broadcast quality productions across network broadcast and other platforms. You will also multi-skill across various production roles to meet the demands of the business and contribute to creative production

Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Operation of technical studio equipment
• 
  Monitoring of production recordings to meet required industry technical standards
• 
  Adherence to ITV and Signpost’s production procedures and policies
• 
  To understand and deliver to Ofcom’s Television Access codes and guidelines
• 
  Work with media assets through ITV Signpost’s media management systems, ensuring accuracy of information at all times in respect of logging, tracking, delivery and archive of material
• Edit Signpost content using a variety of editing packages, specifically Adobe Production Premium / Creative Cloud bundle
• Create accurate subtitles for internal and external content
• Video encoding and transcoding
• Publish web content using CMS
• Secure file transfer of media assets
• Research material content and specific project work as required

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

• A relevant media qualification or equivalent experience
• A recognised English qualification to A level standard
• Desirable - a BSL qualification or a keen willingness to learn BSL
• Practical experience of operating video and audio kit in studio or other environments to produce professional material.
• Experience and knowledge of encoding, transcoding and transferring digital assets
• Previous relevant work for a media company

• Good understanding of digital and social media production techniques
• Proactive organisational skills with the ability to time manage and prioritise workloads, delivering to tight deadlines and adhering to schedules.
• Work with sensitive and/or confidential content from a variety of clients in a discreet and confidential manner.
• Attention to detail in all aspects of work and ability to check and regulate own standard of work with an organised and methodical approach.
• The ability to work alone, using own initiative as well as being an effective team player and good communicator.
• Self motivated to be multi-skilled and prepared to invest time to learn and develop new skills.
• Broad-based general knowledge and be familiar with conventional sources of reference and the internet for research.
• A strong commitment to social inclusion, accessibility and diversity.
• A desire to to learn BSL
