Technical Project Manager (001ww) – Gloucester - £40,000 - £60,000 (DOE)

They are looking for a highly motivated Technical Project Manager to join the existing Engineering Team within a fast-paced environment. The person will form an important and integral part of an expanding business and at an exciting time within the company’s history.
This is a 37 hour a week job, based at the Gloucester office. Mon-Thurs 08.30-5pm Fri 08.30-4.30pm with a 1-hour lunch break.
The Person:
Enthusiastic, engaging & proactive, ambitious & forward-thinking professional with a proven track record of working as a Technical Project Manager within the telecoms industry.
Function:
• Planning & executing projects.
• Planning, designing, executing & monitoring every aspect of a specific project.
• Handling one or more projects at any given time.
• Budgeting of projects.
Role
• Identify project requirements, delivery timelines & costs.
• Develop detailed plans to guide clients, staff members & project teams and revise based on changing needs & requirements.
• Identifying and assigning project tasks based on skill sets, experience & strengths of staff members.
• Monitoring project performance to ensure timely delivery.
• Compiling & submitting project reports to clients, managers & other relevant parties.
• Working effectively for efficient project implementation.
• Developing excellent leadership, customer relations & communication skills to liaise with all relevant parties.
• Managing risks.
• Making sure the projects are running to time & budget.
• Create plans for resources needed.
• Attend regular client meetings and document meeting notes.
• Work with project co-ordinators.
• Research and evaluate hardware and software technologies and/or subcontractor services and weigh the cost/benefit analysis when making project/company decisions.
• Hold regular technical/project team minutes to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects.
• Assign and oversee the daily tasks of technical personnel while ensuring all members of the team are working towards established milestones.
• Establish and implement training processes and strategies for all technical and field personnel.
Qualifications & Skills
• PRINCE 2 Certification
• CIDA Defence Installation Design Foundation Course Certification
• Telecommunications background.
• Extensive project management experience within telecommunications sector.
• Solid IT skills & knowledge of necessary software including MSWord, Excel.
• Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision making and supervising department teams.
• Ability to promote a teamwork mentality.
• Managerial experience applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head off obstacles.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others in the team.
