Overview:
Assessing project requirements for new and existing customers, preparing competitive cost estimates, and supporting production. You will need to have a strong technical background in Pressings and Tool Making, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Assessment:
Analyze customer requirements and specifications for aerospace pressings engineering projects.
Collaborate with Tool Makers and Production teams to understand technical aspects, materials, and manufacturing processes involved.
Cost Estimation:
Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for new projects, considering material costs, labour, equipment, and overheads.
Utilize historical data and industry benchmarks to enhance the accuracy of cost estimates.
Proposal Development:
Work closely with production and suppliers to develop proposals and presentations for potential clients.
Clearly articulate the technical aspects of the projects and the value proposition to customers.
Client Interaction:
Engage with clients to discuss technical requirements, understand their needs, and address inquiries related to cost estimates and project details.
Collaborate with departmental leads to build strong relationships and provide technical support during the sales process.
Market Analysis:
Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities related to aerospace/automotive pressings engineering.
Provide insights and recommendations based on market analysis to enhance the company's competitiveness.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure alignment between estimates and project execution.
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to address any technical challenges or changes in project scope.
Person Specification:
- Proven experience in Technical Sales estimation, preferably in aerospace/automotive pressings engineering.
- Strong background/understanding in toolmaking
- Strong understanding of aerospace/automotive materials, manufacturing processes, and quality standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools for cost estimation and project management.
