Job Title: Technical Security Analyst

Location: London (Hybrid)

Salary: £50,000-£65,000 (Dependent On Experience)


Locke & McCloud are looking for a hands- on and inquisitive Technical Security Analyst on behalf of a global tax consultancy firm. This is a particularly exciting opportunity for talented and ambitious Analyst that wants to build upon their skillset in a fast- paced environment, amongst a dedicated team.


If you are a dedicated, hands- on, technical cyber professional, this could be the opportunity for you. You will be reporting into the Senior Incident Response Manager. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to their own career development and can demonstrate a genuine interest in cyber security.


Main responsibilities:

  • Administers system security on specified technology platforms in alignment with defined policies, standards, and procedures, as well as industry best practices and vendor guidelines.
  • Conducts threat and vulnerability assessments, occasionally followed by necessary remedial measures, to safeguard systems from known and potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Gathers security incident and event data to generate monthly exception and management reports.
  • Reports unresolved network security exposures, resource misuse, or noncompliance situations through established escalation processes.
  • Creates and maintains documentation for security systems and procedures.
  • Addresses reported security incidents, either resolving them directly or escalating as appropriate.
  • Monitors system logs, SIEM tools, and network traffic for abnormal or suspicious activity, providing recommendations for resolution.
  • Ensures proper maintenance of information access levels in internal control systems.
  • Assists in managing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, switches, and routers. Supports the implementation of single sign-on/multi-factor authentication solutions within the Network.
  • Coordinates remediation efforts required by audits and documents exceptions as needed.
  • Reviews, assesses, and mitigates penetration tests and vulnerability assessments on information systems and infrastructure.
  • Monitors security vulnerability information from vendors and third parties.
  • Collaborates with internal and external technical support teams and Member Firms to address ongoing threats.
  • Supports global security initiatives to implement new capabilities.


To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including risk assessment and management, threat and vulnerability management, incident response, and identity and access management.
  • Technical proficiency with security-related systems and applications.
  • Experience in developing, documenting and maintaining security procedures.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls and associated network protocols and concepts.
  • Working technical knowledge of current systems' software, protocols and standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical and decision making skills.
